This notice explains what personal information Weston Marine Lake Mudlarks CIC (“the Mudlarks”, “we”) collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need, we never sell it, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we are
Weston Marine Lake Mudlarks CIC is a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 13078183), registered office 21 Stanley Grove, Weston-super-Mare. You can contact us about privacy at westonmarinelake@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Messages you send us through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message. We use these only to reply to you. We keep messages for up to two years and then delete them.
- Shop orders, donations and Polar Bear Challenge entries: your name, contact details, address (if we’re posting something to you) and order details, so we can fulfil your order and keep the financial records the law requires (usually six years).
- Payments are handled securely by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your full card details.
Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request (replying to you, completing your order), our legal obligations (keeping accounts) and, for contact form messages, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies
We only use cookies that the website needs to work – for example to remember what’s in your shopping basket, to keep checkout secure and to let our volunteers log in. Our payment provider may set cookies at checkout to prevent fraud. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies.
The live webcam is played by YouTube. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play; once you do, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the website and shop for us: our website host, our email provider and our payment provider. They may only use your information to provide their service to us. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Just email us. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
