After a £1 million refurbishment over the winter, Weston Marine Lake reopened at 3pm on Friday 22 May 2026 – just in time for the Bank Holiday.
The works, led by North Somerset Council, include:
- a resurfaced lower walkway
- new steps, ramps and handrails to make getting in and out easier
- more toilets, including an accessible toilet
- cycle racks, plus new storage and equipment hire
- a deep-water swimming channel across the lake
There’s also a coffee hut, paddleboard hire and a sauna by the water. We’ve been campaigning and working with the council on plans for the lake since it was dredged in 2022, and we’re overjoyed to see it looking so smart.
